Chill the martini glass by putting in some ice and leave to one side.
Add the ingredients to the boston glass, filled with ice and shake vigourously, ensuring the jam has married altogether with the other ingredients.
Discard the ice from the now prepared glass and strain the cocktail through a hawthorn strainer and serve with the added garnish.
