Muddle the orange, sugar, lemon juice, add the other ingredients and then shake over cubed ice and strain into a chilled sour glass.
Garnish with a lemon slice and cherry.
This was created for the Whisky magazine cocktail challenge in 2004, I am pleased to say it won. Based on a bourbon sour but with the addition of a wedge of orange and apricot brandy, which work very well with the Woodford Reserve.
Looks great when shaken with the egg white and tastes amazing (if I do say so myself).
