Description:
The soil is volcanic and granitic with sun exposure, NW and NE. Altitude us 150m-250m. The grapes were handpicked during the first two weeks of May, the wine underwent 100% barrel fermentation, 80% in new French oak for 18 months and is unfiltered.

A deep black cherry colour with complex aromas reminiscent of ripe red berries, spices as anise, white pepper and black licorice in harmony with mocha and toasty aromas. As fateful as the aroma is, there is also a balance and freshness, an energy that allows the wine to be very playful and precocious, accented by the spice of habaneras aroma. The mouth presents a great front-to-back seamlessness, with fine continuity and length. What gives this wine its length is the vibrant acid and balance tannins. Pleasing with an agreeable finish.

Enjoy with seafood, salads and goat cheese.

Producer Information

Pioneered by Maria-Luz Marin in 1999 when she planted the first vineyards in the Lo Abarca Valley located in San Antonio, Casa Marin produces a small quantity of fine wine. Over a decade of incredible passion and commitment from Maria Luz and her family has resulted in a neat range of varietal wines that are expressive and impressive.

The estate comprises 40 hectares of vineyards divided in to 33 plots of land that are managed separately revealing individual characteristics. The vineyards benefit from a unique maritime influence creating a cooler climate and longer grape ripening period so suitable for aromatic varietals such as Sauvignon Blanc. This translates in to intensely mineral wines that express the dream of Maria-Luz, who has been recognised internationally for her sensitive winemaking and excellent pure wines.

It gives us a huge amount of pleasure to pioneer these distinctive cool climate fine wines from Chile and we hope you will fall for them as much as we have.
