Description:
This village, situated between Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet, harbours exceptional terroirs for raising Chardonnay. Vines have been cultivated here since the twelfth century, but it was in 1879 that Puligny added the name of its most famous grand cru 'Montrachet' to its name.

The producer we work with entrusts us with high-quality musts which we vinify and raise in our cellars in Nuits-Saint-Georges, therefore benefitting from the same technical means and the same attention as our other Cote d'Or wines.

The wine is then matured in oak barrels for 13 to 15 months, in nineteenth century vaulted cellars which provide ideal conditions for raising wines. The proportion of new oak, which can vary depending on the vintage, represents on average one third of the cuvee. The barrels come from a high-quality barrel maker and have been rigorously selected for their fine grain and light toast.

The nose is very pleasant and charms with its both subtle and enchanting character. There are citrus, floral and dried fruit aromas. This wine is very full on the palate and strikes a balance between smoothness and liveliness. A harmonious wine with long-lasting aromas and flavours.

Producer Information

Domaine Burgundy since 1825.
For more than 180 years the love of wine has been passed on from one Faiveley generation to the next. The Domaine has always remained in the same family and always completely independent. Today Erwan Faiveley is one of the youngest directors of a Burgundy Domaine on record. Erwan is keen to respect the traditions and savoir-faire of the Faiveley family, while paying great attention to the professionals around him, as his vision for the future begins to take shape.
Domaine Faiveley is one of the largest vineyard owners in Burgundy. Almost selfsufficient, Faiveley makes 80 percent of its wines with fruit grown in the family's vineyards and nearly all of its Cote d'Or wines. The family's policy of buying premium land over the span of seven generations means that Faiveley today owns vineyards in the most prestigious Crus: Corton, Corton-Charlemagne, Mazis- Chambertin, Chambertin Clos de Beze, Latricieres-Chambertin, Musigny, Echezeaux and Clos Vougeot - the jewels of Burgundy - producing rare and precious wines.
Faiveley owns a total of 120 hectares including 30 hectares in Cote de Nuits, 10 in Cote de Beaune and 75 in Cote Chalonnaise. These vineyard holdings include eight Grand Crus and 16 Premier Crus spread over 15 Villages. In the Cote Chalonnaise Faiveley owns the largest Domaine in Mercurey and still has 20 hectares of potential vineyards awaiting cultivation permits.
