Bottled in honour of Stefan Gerber's octogenarian grandmother, Gezina. Ouma Gezina is the proud owner of one of the world's only windpomp (wind mill) museums in Loeriesfontein, in Namaqualand. Balance between zippy green notes and tropical elements typical of a superb cool climate Sauvignon Blanc. Just like Granny Gezina, this Sauvignon has the ability to age gracefully.

W.O Western Cape There where the breezes are cool and the Sauvignon vines are happiest

Gezina Louw, from Loeriesfontein in the arid Namaqualand, is the driving force behind the establishment of the second only windmill museum in the world. Gezina is a descendant of Paul Kruger, president of the Transvaal Boer Republic at the end of the 19th century. She proves it with a flash of her birth certificate: Gezina Susanna Fredrika Wilhelmina, the exact family names as her great great grandmother Gezina, wife of the president. And like her forbear, Gezina Louw is Boer aristocracy personified (she is the grandmother of B&B; winemaker Stefan Gerber). Her noble character matches the Sauvignon Blanc you're about to enjoy... it's complex, full of nuances, and not without body.

Producer Information

The Boer, is Stefan Gerber, great-great grandson of President Paul Kruger, with a massive passion for Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and Mediterranean varietals.

The Brit, is Alex Milner, wine-maker at Natte Valleij (after stints in the South of France and India) and great-great grandson of Field Marshall French - who led the Relief of Kimberley - with a passion for Petit Verdot, Bordeaux-blends and anything odd.

110 years ago, these two best friends (they met at Stellenbosch while studying viticulture & oenology) forefathers were bitter enemies and now they've combined to make wines for all the people of South Africa (and the world) to enjoy.
