Description:
Colour: Red cherry, clean and brilliant with a hint of youth on the rim.

High density, good colouration, perhaps too much for a young wine. It can be store for a while.

On the nose: Very intensive wine aroma with alcohol coming through but not over-powering.Toasty wafts and black fruits (blackberry and plums). Faint whiffs of cinnamon and vanilla.

On the palate: Maximum fruit expression, blackberry, currants and plums, without sweetness, enveloping, intensely flavoursome in the mouth with a smooth progression.

Producer Information

Bodegas y Viñedos del Linaje Garsea is a family-owned winery, that also runs a traditional restaurant. The founder, Gabriel Garcia Martinez, applied his vast knowledge of viticulture and winemaking when he first purchased vines in Ribera del Duero. He was also one of the first to encourage tourism in the region. Changing the local tourist system 28 years ago was an enormous project that brought together various aspects of the wine world in Ribera. We learned from his experience, his dreams and his ideas. With these ideas, we unite nature and quality in our wines. Our oldest vines are over 45 years old and are head-trained. Our youngest vines are between six and 15 years old and follow the more modern method of trellising. We harvest by hand and collect in plastic crates of 25 and 45 pound capacities, keeping the grapes healthy and uncrushed. From the large amount of grapes left on the vines, we make vinegar for the family. Sometimes, we dry them to make delicious raisins. But the best option is to give them to Carmen, our sister, who makes renowned grape cakes, pastries, and jams. To quote our local priest: What God has given us, we make into gifts.
