"A triumph... the most sophisticated 2012 Rose I have tasted this year... the must-have rose for fine dining this summer." Matthew Jukes.

An nose extremely fresh nose, with a hint of creaminess to the fruit aromas.

Composed very nicely on the palate.

An excellent finish with very good length.

Producer Information

Chateau d'Esclans, a fantastic property with an insanely grand house near La Motte (the granny flat has five bedrooms), makes what many commentators believe is the world's best rose wines.

The man behind the project is Sacha Lichine, son of the writer and vigneron Alexis and until 1999 the proprietor of Margaux's Chateau Prieur-Lichine. Since 1999, Sacha has been busy building up Domaines Sacha Lichine with d'Esclans as the jewel in the crown.

Everything is done with quality as the overriding focus. Sacha is very proud to say he takes the same care and attention of his grapes as any of the top Bordeaux chateaux do of theirs, and no expense is spared to ensure every vintages reaches its potential in the bottle. The wines themselves are made by Patrick Leon, who used to make the wine at none other than Chateau Mouton-Rothschild and Opus One. Not a bad CV!
