Deep, shining red.

An elegant nose with red fruit aromas, cocoa notes and a well-integrated woodiness.

A supple mouth attack for a fat wine, concentrated and very well structured with smooth tannins, a long aromatic persistence and woody, vanilla notes mingling with dark berry fruits (blackcurrant).

This is a hearty, rounded, balanced, harmonious wine with a long, elegant finish.

Fantastic with BBQ, steaks and lamb shank.

This long-aging wine can be kept for more than 15 years, getting better all the time.

Alain Dominique Perrin, owner-wine grower, acquired the Chateau Lagrezette, in the south of Bordeaux in Cahors, in 1980; a building dating from the 15th Century, classed as an historic monument. The restoration of the building, its gardens and its vineyards took 10 years.

Alain Dominique Perrin is not only a fan of wine, he is also a serious business man - he used to be the CEO of Cartier and made the brand an essential in the world of luxury.

The Chateau Lagrezette has allowed Alain Dominique Perrin to combine his two passions: a love of beauty and the creation of exceptional products.

The consultant oenologist is the famed Michel Rolland, and Robert Parker, who has awarded many high ratings to the Malbecs of Lagrezette, has described them as the 'Quintessence of Cahors'.

Chateau Lagrezette, a subtle blend of 87% Malbec, 12% Merlot and a very small proportion of Tannat, is the premier cru of the winery. Grapes were manually harvested. The various parcels and varieties of grapes that go into Chateau Lagrezette are vinified separately and then matured in new oak barriques and second-pass barriques for 18 to 20 months.
