Description:
The expertise of their cellar master, honed by the experience of many vintages, is deployed in the production of blends. It's shown to be an advantage there as with the vintages.

Antique is a blend of more than 40 cognacs drawn from both the Grande and Petite Champagne districts and aged for more than one generation.

It is light and delicate on the nose, with spicy and intense vanilla aromas. It is complex, balanced, velvety, supple and voluptuous on the palate.

Antique is Hine's flagship. A Cognac to dwell on.

The most elegant of Hine's Cognacs with fruity aromas on the nose and a long mellow taste in the mouth.

Producer Information

In 1791 young Thomas Hone left his home in Dorset, England to seek his fortune in France. He chose the Cognac region, perhaps because his family, living on the coast, had engaged in the common practice of smuggling cognac.
This was the time of the Revolution in France, and Thomas was arrested as a spy and imprisoned in the ancient Château of Jarnac.
He was soon freed again and married Françoise Elisabeth, whose father owned a cognac company in Jarnac. He had married into a business that was to become his career and his obsession. He became a noted connoisseur, respected for his integrity and famous for the demands he made on his suppliers.
Over the years, he raised the art of making cognac to new heights, continuing to develop the business, to which, in 1817, he gave its present name: Thomas Hine & Co.
When he died, in 1822, he left more than a prosperous business. His legacy was a name already known and appreciated around the world for the exceptional quality of its cognacs.
In certain years, when the favourable climate has yielded an exceptional harvest, Hine sets aside a cognac drawn exclusively from the Grande Champagne region.
Experience, handed down over the centuries, enables Hine to detect the qualities that will create a true vintage cognac.
Over the years, Hine has built up an unrivalled collection of old vintages, of which a limited quantity is released each year.
For any given vintage, the climate of the year and the storage conditons influence the taste and the ageing process of the cognac, making each vintage unique...
The cognacs, never sold at less than 20 years of age, are especially prized by connoisseurs.
