Review: This is absolutely the best mix on the market. I bought 6 bottles last time to share with a friend. Used to buy it in waitrose but they are now courting the lower end of the food market and such items as this gradually being delisted. So pleased to find it here.

Review: This is the real thing, fantastic, and when you pop it in the blender with ice and make a frozen margarita with it, WOW, even better. Tried other mix and nothing omes close to the real thing.

Review: Excellent mix for margarita. We love it. We were used to have it by 2.5 litres bottles when we lived in US. Since we are back in France, the Drinkshop is the only place where I found it. Would be good if we could order it by 2.5 lighters bottles.

Review: I love a Margarita but when I find I\'m over imbibing this product is excellent by itself. Perhaps a little bit addictive but does no harm. Before I found TheDrinkShop I found it hard to obtain and tried alternative Margarita Mixes. No comparison! Now I\'m a regular customer and six o\'clock is the loveliest part of the day.

Review: I ordered this recently as I couldn\'t get it anywhere else. I ordered on a Saturday and it arrived on the Thursday just in time for my camping trip the week after - I will definitely be ordering more in the near future!

Review: For a 'real' maragarita, I prefer to mix it myself from scratch, with just the classic ingredients. For the perfect frozen margarita, however, this mix is something I can't live without! :)

Review: Margarita mix - The only way to have a real margarita outside of the US. This stuff is excellent and unless you are a pro at making them from scratch, this is the only way you will get to taste a true margarita. Enjoy

Producer Information

Jose Cuervo owns the largest holdings of agave in the world, nestled in rich, volcanic soil. Caretakers, called 'Jimadores', cultivate and harvest the agave. Jose Cuervo plants the agave shoots between February and July to avoid the months of excessive rain. The shoots, on average, take seven years to reach maturity.
Once the agave has been harvested and pruned, the agave's cores or 'pinas' are sent to La Rojena. Each day the agave oven deck receives from 200 to 300 tons of agave for the production of tequila. The cooking of the pinas refines the taste of the tequila. Even today, this process is carried out completely in the artisanal tradition, requiring 36 to 40 hours. Eight hours after cooking, the pinas are taken to four mills for grinding. The first one is known as the shredding machine: its multiple blades shred the agave into small pieces. The chunks are then ready for the second wheel, which smashes the pieces to extract the juice. The next two are extraction wheels, where the juice, known as must, is separated from the bagasse.
The resulting must is sent to the fermentation tanks. After 50 to 60 hours, the juice is now completely fermented. The next steps - distillation, condensation, and rectification - produce a drinkable product known as white tequila.
The tequila is reposed and aged slowly in barrels; during this time it acquires the gustatory and aromatic features of wood. The toasting of the barrels is the key to their aromatic yield. There are three degrees of toasting: light, medium and strong; each determines a different tequila profile. The barrels are also lightly sprayed with water so that the wood absorbs humidity to prevent evaporation of the tequila aging inside it.
