The 2011 Filsell Shiraz has an incredible depth of colour, with the vibrancy of youth adding purple hues to the deep, dark red.

The nose displays classic 'Filsell aromas' of dark chocolate, licorice and lifted raspberry fruit with hints of lavender.

The palate is full of intense red berry fruits, with ripe blackberries and rhubarb infused with lifted spice and rich vanilla, milk chocolate notes.

The soft palate is beautifully weighted, with optimal balance between ripe, concentrated fruit flavours, sweet spices, tannins and acidity.

A silky, well rounded fleshy fruit style which is drinking well know or can be confidently cellared for 10 years+ after release. Partner it with rich dishes such as a hearty beef stew, lamb shanks or aged, mature cheddar cheese.

Grant's Filsell vineyard with near century old vines is considered one of the best vineyards in the Barossa Valley and consistently produces fruit of great intensity and concentration.

Planted in 1920, this vineyard also produces the fruit for Grant's flagship Shiraz, the highly acclaimed Meshach.

Filsell is known to loyal followers as Meshach's younger brother.

The cooler 2011 vintage required careful fruit monitoring in the vineyard and selective hand picking of most blocks. The wines produced are of exceptional quality, thanks in part to the lower crops of the old vines used to produce Filsell Shiraz.
