Elit's unmistakable purity is the result of the highest quality ingredients, centuries-old traditions and above all, a unique and revolutionary 'freezing' filtration process, specially developed and patented by the SPI Group.

This expensive, labour and time consuming procedure filters the spirit at sub-zero temeratures reaching -18 C, so that the liquid's density increases causing all impurities to freeze aagainst the walls of the filtration tanks. These unwanted crystalline substances are then discarded from the distillate, allowing the selection of nothing but the purist of spirits for their select formaula of Elit.

The result is a vodka like no other. A rare spirit that ranks among the finest and smoothest in the world, Elit.
Tasting vodka is different from tasting other alcoholic drinks (including wine) because we are looking for an absence of flavour in vodka. Vodka is alcohol in it's purest form and the less flavour the better. Cheaper vodkas can have a pronounced burn on the back of the throat (the finish) due to a faster and cheaper filtration.

Nose: Mellow, enigmatic, fresh aniseed and sherbet with a rounder, grainy arnish.
Palate: Evolves from light to medium-bodied with a distinguished creamy aniseed character, garnished with savoury, lightly luscious spiciness and balancing dryness.
Finish: Subtle, spicy aniseed.

Review: I came across this vodka while on a tour of the German micro brewery in Glasgow last week. It is a top notch vodka, expensive but worth every penny. If you enjoy Belvedere then this will change your mind. Try it if you see it on a bar shelf. 5*

Review: IN MY OPINION, the SMOOTHEST vodka available on the market. Worth every single penny! I cannot begin to describe the taste as I could not do it justice. Neat over ice - perfection.

Review: Without a doubt the best vodka on the market to date. It took several begs and pleadings to allow my Manager to allow me to carry 1 bottle of Elit. He said if I can sell it I can carry it. It took me a whole 4 days to sell the bottle and now is a regular item on my backbar. I keep it in the freezer so the true flavour can be enjoyed as any excellent vodka should. I have even converted some Goose lovers. Being an Eastern Euro I know my vodka and Elit is undoubtedly the best out there. Serve is straight from the freezer neat - the only way to go.

Review: This cannot be recommended highly enough, I was presented with Stolichnaya Elit last weekend and I admit to having now been educated on what is uncompromisingly good and what is bad in the World of Vodka, this is far Superior to all others.

Producer Information

Stolichnaya is a Russian vodka produced from wheat and rye grains in Tambov a town located in the Black Earth Region of Russia. This region has long been known as the bread-basket of Russia and has a long history of growing grain and vodka production. It's this blend of grain that gives Stolichnaya its spicy finish, something particular to Russian vodkas.
Artesial well water is added to these grains to begin the fermentation which takes about 60 hours. Once fermentation is complete the resulting liquid is distilled four times to a strength of 96.4% ABV. This spirit is then diluted to bottling strength with more artesial well water which ultimately gives the vodka its smoothness. Finally it's filtered through quartz sand, then activated charcoal, and finally through woven cloth. It is affectionately called Stoli.
