Chestnut-amber hue.

Leather, tobacco and charred molasses nose.

A rich entry leads to a full-bodied, moderately sweet palate of tobacco, burnt caramel, oak and brown spice elements.

Finishes for a mile with a satisfying warm afterglow of alcohol.

A seriously structured and refined aged rum.

Reminiscent of a fine Spanish brandy.

Review: A phenomenal rum, I have to say this is EXTREMELY different to the 23 year old. Its much more refined (somehow - if you\'ve ever had the 23 year old you\'d be just as surprised as I am), less sweet, and somehow better. I\'m a huge fan of the 23, it\'s one of my favourite regular drinking rums, but I do have to admit I prefer the XO by quite some way. But it is definitely the sort you reserve for nice occasions! It \'should\' be priced in at around £300, if you compare to Havana or Appletons of a similar age, so get in quick while it\'s cheap.

Review: I bought this after trying the Ron Zacapa 23 years old which I loved, You can tell straight away that these two are related which for me is a good thing. The XO is a touch smoother and more refined. This is the best rum I ever had. It is also the most expensive rum I ever bought. So value for money I would prefer the 23 yo for 2/3 the price.
