Description:
Gonzalez Byass UK are proud to announce the arrival of The London Gin, one of a handful of super premium Gin's actually distilled in London.

Quadruple distilled in small batches under the careful eye of Master Distiller Charles Maxwell, The London Gin is made from the highest quality English grain spirit and contains with 13 key botanicals.

To the traditional juniper, coriander and angelica are added lemon peel, cassia bar, liquorice, cinnamon, almond, angelica, savory, orris root and orange root. It also uniquely contains gardenia and bergamot - that instantly recognisable perfumed aroma most often encountered in Earl Grey tea.

The pot still method of production ensures that only small batches of London Gin are produced at any one time, ensuring a constant quality threshold. The London Gin also presents itself with a turquoise-blue hue - 'The Original Blue Gin'.

At a generous 47% abv The London Gin is delicate and elegant on the nose with marked spicy and balsamic notes.

Soft, elegant and mellow on the palate, The London Gin gives way to a long finish with refreshing acidity, all of which adds up to a sophisticated, well rounded gin that delivers in every area.

Delicious in a Gin and Tonic and other classic cocktails, The London Gin also comes into its own when drunk simply on the rocks.

Review: This is a truly different gin that should not be used with slices of lemon as that kills the delicate flavour. The slight blue colour tinge is a real talking point and at 47% it packs a really great punch.

Review: A really fragrant gin with lovely subtle bergamot and citrus finish. Super smooth but with plenty of flavour. The lovely blue colour is just an added bonus.

Review: This gin has a nice citrous hit however the lasting taste is the bergamot making your mouth feel like you\'ve just glugged some iced earl grey tea. This is not to my taste, I\'ll be sticking to Sipsmith and Caorunn from now on.

Review: This is a Must Have in your drinks cupboard. It is absolutely delicious - full of intense flavours, a proper strength you can TASTE and a wonderful colour. I thoroughly recommend this gin over any others. Even at the slightly hefty price I'll definitely be back for more.

Review: A great taste. But what makes it different, is the colour. Even with tonic you can see the blue clouds, reminding of the sky on a warm day in spring.

Producer Information

In 1835, young Manuel Maria Gonzalez Angel reached Jerez prepared to forge his way in the prosperous and thriving sherry business. Encouraged by the continuous development of exports, that year he acquired a small cellar and begun to prepare and export his own wine. Shortly after, due to the growing success of his company, Manuel Maria Gonzalez decided to form a partnership with Mr Robert Blake Byass, his agent in England, which gave rise to the Gonzalez Byass company.
Gonzalez Byass, a family company, now has international renown as wine and brandy de Jerez producing vintners. The company is proud of the quality and variety of it's range of products, emphasising the sherry Tio Pepe (the world leader in sales of Fino), the brandy Soberano (the leader in Spain, its country of origin) and Lepanto, with its characteristic flask, designed by the Royal Factory at La Granja.
The reason for the success of Gonzalez Byass is due to its undertaking to provide quality, the axis of the corporative philosophy of the firm that has led it to invest considerable amounts in wine growing, vinification and aging. Palomino grapes are from the Jerez Superior area, where the best "albariza" land is (very limy white earth). The company own 700 hectares of vineyards located in the best spots in the zone: Macharnudo, Carrascal and Burujena.
Gonzalez Byass was the first firm in the area to set up a modern programme to research winegrowing, in which it studies clonal selection and implements scientific quality control methods. It has its own nurseries and is the first and only company in the area to make this undertaking as to its vineyards. Gonzalez Byass is not known as a company that loves its wines in vain.
