Noilly Prate Ambre is a relative newcomer to the Noilly Prat family.

Created using the same traditional production process as Noilly Prat Dry and Noilly Prat Rouge, its recipe included an even greater number of herbs and spices.

The deep amber colour of Noilly Prat Ambre and its rich, full-flavour are due in part to to the addition of orange, cinnamon and vanilla to the secret, aromatic blend of herbs and spices infused into the the fine French wines.

Review: Just been to Noilly Prat in France and tasted the red and Ambre Noilly, both lovely drinks. The red was a Christmas drink but the Ambre was one of the best drinks I have tasted in a long time. Very good after a meal.

Producer Information

In 1813 Joseph Noilly, fine wines and spirits merchant, created his first recipe for a French dry vermouth in the South of France. The son of Joseph, Louis Noilly, set up business in the fishing village of Marseillan, in the South of France, around 1850. In 1855 Louis formed a partnership with his son-in-law, Claudius Prat, and the company Etablissements Noilly Prat & Cie. was founded.

In 1865 Louis Noilly died and it was his daughter Anne-Rosine, also the widow of Claudius Prat, who took over the running of La Maison Noilly Prat for nearly 40 years. Anne-Rosine was a strong woman with ambition and drive, who built the business and created an international reputation.

Today the exceptional quality of Noilly Prat continues to be recognised by leading drinks experts and top mixologists all over the world.
