Description: Inviting aromas of cassis, hazelnuts and marzipan spills over into subtle dark fruit, with tannins and a complex long lingering finish.
Full bodied blend of Cabernet sauvignon (43%), Merlot (31%) and Cabernet franc (25%).
These grapes received six days cold pre-fermentation maceration prior to fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine was then moved into 225L barrels, 50% new French and Hungarian oak for 14 months maturation.

Alberto Bottega was born in Milan, Italy in 1942. After spending childhood in the Friuli region of north-east Italy, Alberto emigrated with his parents and sister to Cape Town in 1950. Met Valerie in 1960. Studied Nuclear Physics at UCT. Lived & worked for thirty years in Johannesburg migrating from scientific research to consulting and finance. Returned to Cape Town in 1998 to wind down and start family farm and wine venture.
