Producer Information

The Faustino story begins in 1861, when Europe was captivated by the ideals of the Romantic age. Eleuterio Martinez Arzok left his home village in search of a dream. He found it in Oyon, Alava. Here he bought a house and some vineyards and started making his own wines.
In 1930 his son, Faustino Martinez Perez de Albiniz, took over the business from his father and progressed from selling bulk to bottled wine under their first own brands.
The founder's grandson, Julio Faustino Martinez, became the head of the business in 1957 and launched the Faustino brand. This name has made their cellars famous in Spain and throughout the world.
To this day Faustino remains loyal to its founder. The fourth generation of the family is still closely involved in the viticulture, and in the winemaking, and is directly involved in the daily business - thus preserving the family character of the winery.
