Description:
Strong aromas of gooseberry, gunflint, and blackcurrant lead to a rich and focused palate dominated by ripe yellow fruit with a mineral edge, all bound by a long and savoury finish.

Jackson Estate embodies the very best of Marlborough, New Zealand, and is a testament to the vision and determination of the Stichbury and Jackson Families who have farmed the land on the Wairau River plain at Jacksons road for more than 160 years.

Produced from the Grey Ghost vineyard which takes its name from the towering Grey Gum tree that was planted at the homestead over 140 years ago, this Sauvignon Blanc was partially fermented in French oak barrels, and aged on its lees, delivering exceptional flavour and texture.

Producer Information

Jackson Estate embodies the very best of Marlborough New Zealand, the essence of sauvignon blanc. Jackson Estate is a special place, a testament to the vision and determination of the Stichbury & Jackson families who have farmed the land on the Wairau River plain at Jacksons Road for more than 160 years.
Since planting their pioneering vineyards, established three decades ago, time, tide and fortune have smiled on Jackson Estate, and the unparalleled affinity between Marlborough and fine wine has been spectacularly realised.
The Jackson family came to New Zealand in 1842 on the Martha Ridgeway from Runnymede in England. In 1855 Adam Jackson bought the first blocks of land in in the heart of the Marlborough region, along what would become known as Jacksons Road.
The famous gum tree that graces the Jackson Estate label was planted in 1867 by his wife Alice. Today the tree stands over 140 feet tall.
John Stichbury is the fifth generation of the Jackson family to farm this land. In 1987 John and Jo planted the first vines and the first wines were released in 1991 under the Jackson Estate label.
