Producer Information

Despite Kim Crawford taking a back seat in the winemaking of these wines over the past few years (after the Constellation take-over in 2005), and more recently retiring from the Kim Crawford brand completely, the team of winemakers he has established continue the classic Crawford philosophy and style.

The Sauvignon Blanc is one of the best out of Marlborough, the Riesling is as good as it has ever been, while the Pinot Gris continues to impress. The Pinot Noir offers superb value - its alluring and aromatic dark cherry fruit has sufficient structure on the palate to make it a Pinot that stands on its own.

In 2005, Kim started making some ‘small parcel’ wines, using exceptional grapes from outstanding sites, often only available in small quantities. The Spitfire Sauvignon Blanc is superb Marlborough Sauvignon from a vineyard in the southern hills. It is aromatic yet restrained, and rich without being cloying.
