A superb Sauvignon Blanc. Very pale yellow in colour with greenish hues at the edges.

On the nose, it has great intensity. Subtle aromas of green asparagus, lemon and mandarin with tomato leaf notes and a few mineral characteristics.

Its wonderful elegance does not contradict its aromatic concentration which could be due to a colder season in the zone.

In the mouth the wine is very complete since it has a highly stimulating taste with a persistent natural acidity.

It has a perfect balance of roundness that allows it to maintain its freshness. In general, an excellent wine.

100% Sauvignon Blanc.

This year the grapes were picked 10 days after last year's harvest date with a wonderful aromatic concentration, and therefore fermentation and storage were carried out seeking to preserve the vineyard's magnificent expression. In order to achieve this, the grapes were gently de-stemmed and subjected to cold maceration before being pressed. The fermentation process of the clean must was performed between 12 and 14° C (54 and 57° F). Temperatures were kept low in order to preserve the wine's freshness, aromas and intensity. Tributo Sauvignon Blanc does not have barrel storage, however, fine lees were raised so as to provide complexity to its aromatic profile and to round out its mouth appreciation.

Producer Information

Caliterra was established in 1996 as a joint venture between the families of Robert Mondavi and Vina Errazuriz. In January 2004 Vina Errazuriz became the sole owners of Caliterra, at the heart of which is the impressive 1000ha Caliterra Estate.
The name Caliterra is taken from 'Calidad' Spanish for quality and 'Tierra' - land. The wine making philosophy of Caliterra is to produce environmentally friendly quality wines in the heart of the Colchagua Valley. The focus is around the 1000ha Caliterra estate in Colchagua where 288ha are currently under vine. Crucially a large proportion of this estate, and all new plantings, are on prime hillside sites resulting in high quality fruit and complex wines.
Over the past few years, Caliterra has pioneered a move to sustainable wine production with the country's leading consultant; the four pillars of this approach are sustainable viticulture, community commitment, environmental preservation and eco friendly packaging.
