Description: Crystal clear on the eye with the aroma of a freshly baked chocolate cake. A mouthfeel not dissimilar to vodka, but with a pleasing lingering chocolaty finish.
Founded in 1824 and now owned by the Morello Brothers, Destilerias Pico has spent over a century and a half developing and fine tuning one of the most decadent liquors in the world. Having researched a vast supply of different cocoa beans, the Morello brothers eventually selected the now famous Guayaquil cocoa bean of Ecuador, renowned for its complex aroma and suitability for distillation.
The process starts by toasting the beans, followed by trituration, maceration and finally distillation yielding a liquor of exquisite flavour and taste.

Destilerias Pico was founded in 1824 by Don Manuel Pico, and after three generations as a family business, the company Destilerias del Cacao Pico, S.A. was formed.
In 1952, the company was acquired by the Merello brothers, the current owners of the business. The small size and family nature has been present throughout the life of the distillery; which through the years has allowed it to build up a loyal customer base.
