|The story of Bass begins in 1777 when William Bass opened the first brewery in Burton-on-Trent. A second brewery opened after Bass began riding the high seas to America in 1799. Since then, Bass has remained one of the world's most popular beers for over 200 years. |
On New Year's eve 1875, a Bass employee spent a long winter's night sleeping on the steps of London's brand new registrar's office. The registrar opened it's doors for the first time on Jan' 1st, 1876, to find a man half frozen but first in line. Moments later the Bass red triangle would go down in history as Britains first trademark.
