Description:
This unique blend offers a complex, intense and elegant nose with expressive notes of red and black fruit, spices and tobacco. Balanced, supple mid-palate with some more spices and red fruit, followed by a long finish.

Lapostolle is owned by the Marnier-Lapostolle family (of Grand Marnier fame), and since the winery's foundation in 1994 has pursued an uncompromising approach to quality. Their objective is simple as it is ambitious: to create world-class wines using French expertise and the superb terroir of Chile.

The five varieties in Borobo are hand-harvested from three of Casa Lapostolle's premium sites: in Apalta (Cabernet, Petit Verdot and Carmenere), Casablanca (Pinot Noir) and Cachapoal Valley (Syrah).

All of the grapes were hand-destemmed. The must was wild fermented in small French oak casks for ten to fifteen days at less than 28°C, followed by post-fermentation skin contact lastgin from just a couple of days in the case of the Pinot Noir to three weeks for the Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine was then racked to barrels to undergo malolactic fermentation, and aged for twenty-four months in 100% new French oak barrels before bottling unfined and unfiltered.

30% Cabernet Sauvignon; 25% Syrah; 20% Carmenere; 15% Pinot Noir and 10% Merlot.

Producer Information

Casa Lapostolle was founded by the Marnier Lapostolle family from France and the Rabat family from Chile in 1994 through Alexandria Marnier-Lapostolle, her husband Cyril de Bournet and Done Jose Rabat Gorchs. Today, Casa Lapostolle is 100% owned by the Marnier-Lapastolle group.
The Marnier Lapostolle family, founders and owners of the world-renowned liqueur Grand Marnier, are known for producing spirits and liqueurs, but the family has also been involved in winemaking for generations.
Originally winegrowers in the Loire Valley, the Marnier Lapostolle continue this vintner tradition today as owners of Chateau de Sancerre.
