Producer Information

Chateau de Pierreux is a 77 hectare estate situated in the heart of Brouilly. It is one of the finest domaines in the Beaujolais region, with a magnificent chateau and winery built during the Renaissance. It has been managed by Jean-Claude Boisset since the 2002 vintage; the wines are made by Lydie Nesme. The vineyards are planted on highly absorbent sandy soil, consisting of pink granite sprinkled with blue volcanic rocks. The 40-45 year old vines are `gobelet`, or `bush`, trained at a density of around 10,000 vines per hectare.
