A clean attractive straw-yellow colour that has a bright lemon glint in it.

The high intensity aromas are of a delicate vanilla and lemon, grapefruit and white stone fruits. The French Allier oak brings out a light smoked scent to the wine.

It is dry, well balanced and full bodied.

It has persistence and complexity and is harmoniously rounded, ending with a long finish.

Producer Information

Martin Codax is the largest producer in Galicia with 450 hectares of vineyard planted to Albarino, which represents 13% of the total Rias Baixas DO. The co-operative was founded in 1986 by a group of winemakers led by ninth generation winemaker Luciano Amoedo and currently comprises 2,400 tiny vineyard parcels individually managed by 550 families. Martin Codax was instrumental in the creation of the Rias Baixas DO in 1988 (in fact the statutes were signed at the winery) and are estate-grown Albarino specialists, conducting ongoing research into the variety.
