The Lyeth Merlot is dark ruby in colour.

It features aromas of dried red fruits and herbs that mingle nicely with the earthy notes of the forest floor and hints of wet stone.

Medium-bodied, the front to mid palate has fresh summer strawberry flavours while the fine tannins are nicely integrated into the wine, making it approachable upon release.

Producer Information

Originally founded in 1981, Lyeth was one of the first wineries in California to blend Cabernet Sauvignon with the other major Bordeaux varieties. The winery built a formidable reputation during the 1980s, under the guidance of winemaker Bill Arbois, for the quality of its Cabernet and Merlot blends. When Burgundian Jean-Charles Boisset purchased the cult winery in 1994, he immediately contacted Bill and brought him back on board.
