Description:
The name Santa Digna was given to the crosses marking the district boundaries of a land. These crosses served to delimit territories and symbolised good fortune and protection for those who were leaving for other climes.

The red Santa Digna Cabernet Sauvignon is made entirely from this grape variety, which achieves optimum varietal expression in the privileged Central Valley Climate.

This wine is a clear ruby colour with the spicy, liquorice and blackcurrant aromas characteristic of the grape variety. The wine has a firm backbone with smooth, tightlyknit fruit and tannins and long elegant aftertaste.

The perfect accompaniment to all meat dishes especially game and barbecued or grilled meats.

Producer Information

In 1979, our hundred year-old wine-making company acquired a small winery in Curicó, in the Chilean central valley, as the first foreign company to back Chilean vineyard production located in a unique magical landscape, at the feet of the Andes volcanoes. Today, after almost thirty years, those 100 hectares acquired then have turned into 445 hectares of vineyards owned by the company itself. Our first estates in these lands were Maquehua, San Francisco Norte and Cordillera. At the end of the 90s we added San Luis de Alico and Empedrado. The excellent climate conditions for cultivating grapevines, with great temperature differences between night and day and lands free of grape phylloxera, have contributed to the fact that sublime wines are being made in lands from where one can view the greatness of the Andes, crowned by snow and a noble beauty. As of 2010 Miguel Torres Chile is directed by Miguel Torres Maczassek, a fifth generation Torres winemaker who moved to Chile with his family in order to maintain the tradition and passion for winemaking that the Torres family has demonstrated all these years.
