Description:
Our Vendimia Tardia is a wine made from Riesling grapes, originating from the Fundo San Francisco, in Molina, where they followed a process of over-ripening until they were harvested. Noble rot, also known as Botrytis, is the cause of this relative enrichment of the must in natural sugars.

Over a period of weeks, Botrytis, or noble rot, sun dried and ennobled these grapes. This means that the wine made from them has accquired a beautiful old-gold colour, with an elegant and spirituous aroma. Dense and intriguing on the palate with a myriad of flavours reminiscent of honey, flowers and spices.

The sweetness of Chile is concentrated into this exclusive and pioneering natural sweet wine, whose production is highly limited.

Especially made for accompanying sweets and desserts.

Producer Information

In 1979, our hundred year-old wine-making company acquired a small winery in Curicó, in the Chilean central valley, as the first foreign company to back Chilean vineyard production located in a unique magical landscape, at the feet of the Andes volcanoes. Today, after almost thirty years, those 100 hectares acquired then have turned into 445 hectares of vineyards owned by the company itself. Our first estates in these lands were Maquehua, San Francisco Norte and Cordillera. At the end of the 90s we added San Luis de Alico and Empedrado. The excellent climate conditions for cultivating grapevines, with great temperature differences between night and day and lands free of grape phylloxera, have contributed to the fact that sublime wines are being made in lands from where one can view the greatness of the Andes, crowned by snow and a noble beauty. As of 2010 Miguel Torres Chile is directed by Miguel Torres Maczassek, a fifth generation Torres winemaker who moved to Chile with his family in order to maintain the tradition and passion for winemaking that the Torres family has demonstrated all these years.
