Altano - Organic Red 2013 - Brambly Fruit 6x 75cl Bottles
75cl Bottles £9.09 Available 15th Mar 2016
Description: Initially sourced entirely from the Symington family's Assares vineyard, the first of their three properties in the Vilarica Valley to be granted full organic certification. The other two properties, Quinta do Ataide and Quinta da Canada were fully organically certified from the 2010 vintage. Together, the three vineyards add up to 126 hectares (311 acres), the largest organically farmed vineyard holding in Portugal and very probably in the whole of Europe.
A full, generous wine that reflects the singularity of the Vilarica Valley terroir and expresses the purity of flavours of the organic vineyard management, which accentuates its genuine, natural character.
Wonderful fragrance of violets and delicious flavours of fleshy, brambly fruit, underscored by peppery spice and discreet vanilla tones from the well integrated wood.
An excellent wine to match with a wide range of international spiced foods or everyday pasta-based dishes and casual meals such as tapas.
Grapes: Tinta Barroca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca.
