Distil. No9 Mixology Guide - Glasgow
- Cocktail Name: Kube Your Enthusiasm
- Bartender: Callum Sutherland
- Venue/Bar: Distill
- Location: 1102 – 1106 Argyle Street, Finnieston, Glasgow G3 7RX
Based in the lively area of Finnieston, Distill is known for its cool atmosphere and amazing drinks, including probably Scotland’s most comprehensive rum range, and is a favourite among West End locals. Distill is a vibrant cocktail bar with live DJs every weekend, and an enviable range of Bloody Marys to help their customers cope with the aftermath. All this comes with some great free range food as well.
Calum Sutherland’s colleagues consider him a “linguistic chief among men”, thanks in part, no doubt, to a year spent in Vietnam. His Kube Your Enthusiasm follows the bar’s free range ethos, combining a double measure of Distil No9 vodka with house made cola concentrate and freshly squeezed lime juice. Once shaken and strained, this is served with a cola cube rim.

Scotland’s second (and largest) city could once claim to be “the second city of the British Empire”, and it can boast an appropriately broad range of cocktail venues and influences, which is reflected in this guide to nine of the city’s most innovative bars. While these are unsurprisingly concentrated in the centre and along Argyle Street, we have also cast the net as wide as Milngavie, and mixed long-established favourites with some very new newcomers.
