Q & A
What do you as a mixologist think about beer?
Well beer is one of my favourite drinks for relaxing. It is very important that the beer is not pasteurized so that all the flavours remain. My favourite at the moment is Saint beer which is made in England.
If you could offer a couple of short pieces of advice to the average bartender, what would they be?
I started by experimenting. So don't be afraid to fail and try new things, follow your intuition. There are no limits to what you can achieve. All is possible, even if it seems crazy.
What's your process for creating a new cocktail?
I think my way is quite strange. Before putting ingredients in the mixing glass, I smell them. My colleges often watch me walking around with some sort of fruit in my hands all day long before I use it.
What is your favourite cocktail to drink? To make?
I am quit particular about cocktails what I am drinking. All time favourite is old fashioned. I love to make it and enjoy drinking it.
What are some current trends you've seen in the cocktail market?
Lately in the industry, I have seen the return of prohibition time cocktails. Strong on flavours and simple by nature.
Your hangover cure?
First drink you ever tried?
We've all had a bad experience with at least one drink. What drink do you most avoid?
