Mild Asian Dishes Wine Pairings

Asian cooking has so many flavours going on, it is best to pair a wine with these in mind, rather than the main component of the dish, be it meat or fish. Aromatic wines and those of a light sweetness can often work best with dishes from Indian cooking, through to Chinese and the very green and flowery flavours of Thai cuisine. Classic pairings include German Riesling for its fruit and acidity, readily cleansing the palate. Whilst chenin blanc may suit Thai dishes with its aromatic style, or, pairing with the slight sweetness of a Alsace pinot gris will work a treat for toning down the heat.
