Hyde - No.4 President's CaskRum Cask Finish
This single Malt Irish whiskey is made from 100% malted Irish barley, from a single distillery location, it’s double distilled in small batches in a traditional copper pot still, then matured for over 10 years in flame-charred, first fill, ex-bourbon casks from Kentucky in the U.S.A. It is then finished for a further six months in Dark Rum casks from Barbados.
The nose gas a fantastic interaction between toffee, spices, cinnamon and sultanas, with a rich backdrop of rum, porridge oats and barley. It is smooth and spicy on the palate, with bittersweet vanilla, toffee, cinnamon, apricots, and chocolate, with an overtone of rum and sultanas in the finish.
