Fruit Liqueurs'Cuarenta y Tres' is Spain's leading liqueur and has been made in Cartagena by Diego Zamora since 1924 although it's origins go back many centuries.
The name derives from the forty three ingredients that go to make up this fine liqueur.
With it's smooth vanilla and citrus flavours it is excellent on the rocks or in cocktails.

Cant get enough of this heavy smooth warming drink, just drinking it neat out of the bottle. Even the wife likes it and she's a dedicated gin drinker, that's how good it is.
An excellent smooth drink, try it mixed with a shot of vodka and ice and a twist of lime....wonderful.
Had this in Germany and found it a very very smooth dirnk, mixed it with a shot of espresso and was smooth sweet and warm.
Thick heavy and sweet with a delicious suggestion of coffee way back behind the heady alcohol fumes. A superb shot to start the evening and great as a mixer with a drop of something very dry and light - try Indian tonic water or old fashioned (sour) lemonade and work up from there. A old fashioned taste and a favorite in the bars and clubs of 1960s Espana. Nowadays a spring time stroll down the Ramblas in Barcelona just wouldn't be the same without a Cuarenta y Tres and a rich black coffee on the side in one of the cosmopolitan cafes. It really brings the mime artists to life!
Discovered this in germany in the most amazing drink. Equal measures of milk and orange juice lots of ice and a generous shot of licor 43. Sounds bizarre, tastes divine.
