The name "pedregal" refers to a piece of rocky land.
Rancho "El Pedregal"' is formed by two rocky hillsides in a "V" shape. There is a small river running in between them which serves as the border between Arandas and Jesus María municipalities, meaning this field belongs to both counties. The field is located around 1km southeast of La Alteña Distillery at 2,050 meters average elevation.
