Islay Malt Whisky
Colour: Light gold.
Tasting notes, undiluted. Nose: Sweet, wood smoke, hints of oak smoked ham. A touch of ozone and some briny/sea tangle aromas. Palate: Sweetness laced with ash and peat smoke. Iodine and carbolic soap flavours present along with a salty edge.
With water: Nose: Sweet, phenolic aromas - some birchwood, moss and charred oak. A rich fruity note also present. Palate: Sweet, cloying with ash and smoke flavours. Hints of smoked ham/bacon and some cinnamon/aniseed flavours.
Body: Full and complex. Finish: Phenolic - birchwood/moss with ash and peat smoke. Cask Type: Refill bourbon barrels. Whisky Style: Strong Islay character, mellowed by the years in cask.
