Elijah Craig 12-year-old is a true Small Batch premium Bourbon, and had that distinction before the term even existed. The youngest Bourbon in the batch is at least 12 years old and it is bottled at 47% abv- all round a rich, delicious drop of whiskey!

Bottled exclusively from a dumping of 100 barrels or less, the brand carries the name of Rev. Elijah Craig, who was the Baptist minister widely considered the "Father of Bourbon." He discovered the method of making true Kentucky Bourbon when his stored his wares in barrels that had been charred in a fire.

Nose: Packed with sweet oak and vanilla with a touch of apple and fragrant spices. Palate: Rich, full-bodied and warming. Caramel, cinnamon and brown sugar give way to rich, drying oak, tobacco and liquorice. Finish: Mouth coating, long and complex.

Elijah Craig is highly acclaimed- it has twice been awarded "Best of the Best" by Whisky Magazine and received a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Jim Murray has described it as, "About as complete a bourbon aroma as you are likely to of the most beautiful noses found anywhere in the world today. A bourbon to keep in the mouth forever."

Elijah Craig is made at and marketed by Heaven Hill Distilleries, who were founded after the repeal of prohibition in 1934 by the Shapira brothers when they were approached by members of the famous Beam family with a proposal to build a new distillery. To this day, Heaven Hill is owned and operated by the Shapira family and has Parker and Craig Beam, the 6th and 7th generation of the Beam family, in charge of whiskeymaking. This is the secret behind the quality and consistency of whiskies at Heaven Hill, which always offer fantastic value for money!

Strong yet very smooth with a hint of sweetness. Needs a dash of water and tastes great! Great buy.

You can really believe this being the father of bourbon, it's so smooth despite the 47%; each time you drink it you can taste the different flavours mentioned in the description. it warms you up nicely, and makes you want to drink much, much more of it. This is not a drink I would flippantly pass around my guests - this is for my closest friends and I; a genuine pleasure to drink. Value for money? Absolutely, without a doubt.
