Gold Rum

A marvelous anejo made from a blend of light and heavy, molasses-based rums aged for a minimum of 8 years in charred American oak bourbon barrels.

Angostura 1919 rum possesses a rich, golden-amber hue with excellent clarity. The rum exudes a complex bouquet brimming over with aromas of cocoa, molasses, caramel and vanilla.

It is remarkable soft and well rounded as the rum glides over the plate without a hint of harshness or biting edge. Within moments it opens up, revealing a generous and long-lasting array of toasty flavours.

The finish is warm and very relaxing.

Bought this as a present for my Fiancee and it is gorgeous! I\'m not a Rum drinker, but I could happily sit there all day and drink this. Goes well with mixer or on it own, I\'ll be buying this again for sure!!

I'm no connoisseur, but I was looking for an alternative to Bacardi 8, which is always difficult to source, and came across this. Beautiful. Sweet, smooth, delicious - dangerously drinkable! Am going to buy a bottle for my dad for his birthday as he's a fan of Caribbean rums, will make sure I get a glass.

Like the 12yo this Angostura rum has a beautiful decanter-style bottle, with a huge cork. Makes a wonderful gift or addition to your bar for its aesthetics alone. The taste and aroma is slightly sweeter than the 12yo, but its just as smooth and rich. My opinion is the 12yo is only marginally better than the 8yo, some actually rate the 8yo higher. Again like the 8yo treat this rum with the reverie is deserves and drink it straight or on the rocks. Also I dont usually comment on this site itself but they do carry this at a very good price, I have paid as much as
