Enjoy the finesse and power of this special wine from the heart of Medoc in the commune of St Julien.

Ruby colour ranging from deep violet to shades of purple to the edge of the glass.

A nose that fills the senses with licorice then ripe fruit, like blackcurrants and blueberries. Peonies, roses and pepper.

On the palate the wine has a supple, fat, rich attack with fresh acidity that remains subdued in relation to the ripeness of the substance.

Drinking now, best around 2010 and best served with grilled beef and its marrow, lamb ribs with thyme, partridge with bacon, duck stew and fresh eel stew.
