DOMAINE TOURNON - Limestone Coast Shiraz 2009
Soil - Red sandy loams layer with a thickness between 10cm and 60cm, overlying a several deep draining limestone bed.
Harvest - Harvest at full maturity, avoiding over ripeness.
Vinification - The grapes are destemmed and fermented in cement or stainless steel tanks. The maceration lasts up to 2 weeks, to give the wine good tannic structure required for beneficial ageing and stability.
Maturing - 100% of the wine is age in tanks, and bottled 10 to 12 months after vintage.
Colour: intense red colour.
Nose: Red fruit aromas with some liquorice and smoky notes.
Palate: Very round structure, very soft. Discrete rounded tannins with fruit aromas showing through.
