Powerful, full of flavour and elegant, L'Ostal Cazes - Estibals wine is typical of the great wines of the Languedoc.

A deep purple colour, the wine has aromas of garrigue, black cherries and blackberries. Firm but very fine tannins are combined with complex aromas and a discreet hint of oak.

A deep red colour with hints of garnet, this wine has aromas of red fruit and garrigue with a subtle hint of wood. The aromas are confirmed in the mouth, with a very elegant structure marked by silky tannins, all remarkably blended. Overall it has length, balance and great finesse.

It is perfectly matched with red meat grilled or en sauce and all cheeses.

Located in the heart of L'Ostal Cazes Estate, the hill-sided 25 ha vineyard of Estibals is grown on a clay and limestone soil, and is surrounded by the garrigue landscape.

2004 was normal, although lacking in heat in summer and marked by higher than average rainfall (200 mm of rain from 15th June to 15th August). The 2004 harvest took place with more pleasant temperatures than in 2003.

The weather allowed the grapes to be picked without any problems. This productive year made it necessary to carry out green harvesting.

'One of Chateau Lynch-Bages owner Jean-Michel Cazes's satallite operations, the 2004 Estibals has hints of garrigue with warm aromas of dates, lavender and purple Grenache fruit. Refreshingly medium bodied, it boasts lashings of ripe, wild herb-scented fruit and is perfect summer barbeque drinking.' Wine of the Month, Decanter Magazine, June 2007.
