A rich black cherry, with signs of maturity at the rim. A very stylish Cabernet blend showing classical cabernet cassis, a touch of wild raspberry from the Merlot and good berry shiraz characters. Each variety complements the other, giving a velvety mouth-filling wine with superb structure, and a fine-grained tannin finish.
It can be cellared with confidence for a further 5-8 years.
Mentor is a great food wine and is an ideal accompaniment for rich game dishes, roast duck or goose, braised ox tail and a tangy matured cheese.
Each year, the Peter Lehmann winemakers identify the best Cabernet Sauvignon of vintage for blending with selected varieties to create a multi-dimensional wine of great distinction.
Sourced from the The Stonewell, Ebenezer and Light Pass districts of the Barossa Valley. Fermented and matures for 18 months in new French oak hogsheads.
