Chateau de Selle's Coeur de Grain Rose, renowned as 'the world's finest Rose wine', was the first, along with Blanc de Blancs, to win a place of honour at fine restaurants the world over.

This inland estate, perched on chalky hills, enjoys generous amounts of sunshine. The proportion of stone in the soil is 40-50%, thereby making it an arid soil which, despite the presence of small yet highly fertile quantities of clay, produces small yields.

Cabernet Sauvignon for its complexity, blending elegance and vigour. Grenache to add warmth to the wine. Cinsault for its finesse and fullness. Syrah in small quantities to round off the wine and give it colour.

Chateau de Selle has an area of 140 hectares, 64 of which are cultivated. Year after year, the cultivated area of the estate wins over part of the rocky terrain. The earth is mechanically tilled while retaining a natural balance, the original proportion of stone being maintained after crushing.

The crushing process is carried out on a yearly basis. Hand picking. Highly selective grape sorting. Extremely delicate pressing process. Fermentation in vats followed by ageing in oak casks for 6-9 months. Bottled in spring.

Matching with food Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Cinsault. The bouquet is reminiscent of plants with notes of fruit and spice, broom, apricot and grapefruit pulp.
