The second vintage of dry Rose captures the spirit of the first release.
Once again Bonterra have used a market basket of varietals to contribute surprising complexity to this beautiful Salmon-coloured wine, focusing in particular on Sangiovese, Zinfandel and Syrah from the Indian Creek vineyard in the Sierra Foothills of Amador County, where they source Syrah as a blender for many of their wines.
The knock-your-socks off colour is just the beginning. Chilled a bit, the wine reveals aromas and flavours of strawberry, tart cherry, fragrant tea, luscious raspberries, some watermelon, a touch of spice and vanilla in a lingering, unexpectedly joyful finish.
Bonterra are serious about making a serious Rose, and they hope that the word will be spread to the world that real wine lovers drink Pink.
Grape: Sangiovese 54%, Zinfandel 24%, Grenache 22%.
