The beginnings of Stella Bella Wines date back to the release of 200 cases of the single vineyard Suckfizzle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon in 1999 by winemakers Janice McDonald and Stuart Pym.
In 2001 the first Stella Bella wines, a Moscato style Pink Muscat, and a Sangiovese Cabernet were released. An interest in Italian wine influencing both the choice of name and wine styles.
And the latest addition, Skuttlebutt an everyday drinking style, was released in 2003. From this modest and eclectic beginning, Stella Bella Wines has experienced rapid growth, broad critical acclaim and a reputation for producing individually crafted Margaret River wines of great expression, personality and quality.
The grafting and crafting of this reputation has been and remains a very hands-on journey for Stella Bella Wines. Both owners and staff alike have worked intuitively and with a high level of self belief and trust in one another.
Their future success is inextricably linked to the Margaret River region and the crafting of the best wines possible from this precious and scarce vineyard resource. The brand names and the associated labels of Stella Bella, Suckfizzle and Skuttlebutt are undeniably and purposely curious and expressive of their sense of irreverence, fun, adventure and creativity.
Each of the brands have a story which is reflective of the wines, the company's journey and their beliefs.
The values that underpin Stella Bella Wines as a wine producer are: Embracing & Adventurous: They respect the virtues and lessons of tradition, yet are eager to step outside the square in their continuous journey of discovery. Dedicated: All grapes are grown in the Margaret River region, either by them or their specially selected growers.
Creative & Excellent: Stella Bella deliver individually crafted wines of great expression, personality and quality.
