This modern, temperature controlled winery has been Faustino's premium Rioja house since 1990 and is founded on the Bordeaux Chateaux concept. Its location, 650m above sea level, between the mountain ranges, gives the area a special microclimate. 50 hectares of fine lime-clay soil produce rich fruit harvested manually from the best vines on the estate. More french oak barrels are used than at other Rioja wineries. The wines are aged for longer than required by Rioja DOC law, in 14,000 barrels no onler than seven years. No garnacha grapes are used in any blend for Campillo.
