Domaine les Tours de Montmelas
This is a stunning 14th century property with 50 hectares of vineyard, owned by the d'Harcourt family. Originally, the estate belonged to the Sires de Beaujeu, noblemen who used it as a holiday residence, often inviting Anne, Princesse de Cleves, to stay with them.
From 2007, the wines from this property were upgraded to Beaujolais-Villages. Just as well, really, as the quality of the wine is better than many a Cru Beaujolais.
