The story of Bass begins in 1777 when William Bass opened the first brewery in Burton-on-Trent. A second brewery opened after Bass began riding the high seas to America in 1799. Since then, Bass has remained one of the world's most popular beers for over 200 years.
On New Year's eve 1875, a Bass employee spent a long winter's night sleeping on the steps of London's brand new registrar's office. The registrar opened it's doors for the first time on Jan' 1st, 1876, to find a man half frozen but first in line. Moments later the Bass red triangle would go down in history as Britain's first trademark.
