Bodegas del Linaje Garsea
Bodegas y Vinedos del Linaje Garsea is a family-owned winery, that also runs a traditional restaurant. The founder, Gabriel Garcia Martinez, applied his vast knowledge of viticulture and winemaking when he first purchased vines in Ribera del Duero. He was also one of the first to encourage tourism in the region. Changing the local tourist system 28 years ago was an enormous project that brought together various aspects of the wine world in Ribera.
Their youngest vines are between six and 15 years old and follow the more modern method of trellising. They harvest by hand and collect in plastic crates of 25 and 45 pound capacities, keeping the grapes healthy and un crushed. From the large amount of grapes left on the vines, they make vinegar for the family. Sometimes, they dry them to make delicious raisins.
