You see, many years ago - 10 actually - there was a plan to build a whisky distillery in Shetland. It would be Britain’s most northerly. Blackwood’s was the company concerned, run by a dynamic woman called Caroline Whitfield, and it seemed set to go ahead with the project.
Various products carrying the Blackwood's label and heavily branded with Shetlandic blarney hit the marketplace: Jago's cream liqueur, Blackwood’s gin and vodka. Spirits were high.
